The story is told about the Mum visiting her young son after a tonsil operation.  She was surprised to find him sitting up, all smiles. When asked how he was, he replied that having spoken to God, who performed the operation, all was well and he felt good. One thing we enjoy about a holiday away is to go to another church !. Things are always done differently and there is usually something new to learn. In July we went to church in Edmonton, and enjoyed the service benefiting from what was said and the hymns that were sung, several of them new to us. Recently I’ve had some time on my hands and have been doing a bit of crocheting. It struck me how all these old-fashioned skills which are dying out (like darning, turning collars, dressmaking, knitting) could be so useful in our ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ society.
